This camera is easy to use, even for the novice/beginner camera buff. You have the option of using one of the many programs and their options or going fully manual. Though, it is easier in today's market to simply go the Digital Camera Route, for the one camera enthusiast that simply wants to experiment, this is the camera for you. I purchased my camera after using a Ricoh KR-10 Super for many years, traveling around the world. While that camera is still functional, I have placed it in retirement and picked up this camera off ebay. It is a change and allows me to continue using a film camera as a change of pace as, even, I have also gone the Digital route I still enjoy using a film camera from time to time. For those of you who are learning the ways of the camera, this camera has much to offer, allowing you to experiement at will, while others may, like myself, simply enjoy the break it gives from the Digital world. It also allows me the advantage of multiple lens, that, unless you are willing to spend a goodly amount of money for a Digital Camera, you are not able to experience.Read full review
I bought This camera the Ricoh 30-SP two weeks ago and I find it is very easy to use and works wonderfully. This camera can be used in manual mode as well as program mode. The manual is very easy to understand even for the novice photogragher like myself. What I like about this camera is that it has a Shutter speed up to 2000 of a second. It also has a self timer. I especially like the fact that it has a funtion that you can change the ISO for a particular photo. I really can't say anything negative about this camera just yet I might add more later after I have had it a while. I would recommend this camera for someone like myself(a novice photographer).
I have been using this camera for a couple years now and absolutely love it! The major issue was the camera seals, after many years they turned to goo and had to be replaced. I found someone here on Ebay that sells the seals and replaced them and since then its been a terrific camera. My only complaint with the ease of use is that if you aren't careful, you can adjust the EV setting while setting the film speed. The lenses are easy to find and cheap, if you want to use standard K-mount, to find the specific Ricoh K mount, it takes a little more looking but they are necessary for the full program modes. Be careful with the battery door, since it would be very easy to break if you were ham-handed. Overall its a wonderful camera and I really recommend it.
Good versatile easy to use, excelant balance& weight. I like it just as well as my nikons & pentax cameras. When purchasing one, make sure the mirror returns promptly.. will purchase another one as a back up.. golf...
I have owned eight of this model and found them to be an excellant value. Programable, automatic, manual, compact and easy to use ability to do some creative protography, make it an excellant student, amateur and even professional choice. K-mount lens also are a big plus. Dollar for dollar its simply a good value. F.L.A.
