Good replacement for the OEM part
Had an antenna mast that someone over-tightened and broke off inside the OEM Base Mount on our kid's used 2001 F-150 which is impossible to fix. Found this part and with just a little care it was very easy to replace. Put a shop towel or some thick material around the base of the "pop-off" weather cover on the original Base Mount to protect the paint and pry off the plastic weather cover with a wide, thin-bladed screw-driver. Squirt a little PB Blaster penetrating oil (just in case) on the heads of the three screws holding the original Base Mount to the front fender. Open hood and carefully tie a piece of twine around the antenna wire going into the undereside of the original base mount so you don't accidentally drop it and undo the three screws holding the old Base Mount to the fender. Detach the antenna wire from the old mount (it just plugs in ) and plug the antenna wire into the new Base Mount and re-attach to fender using the same screws but don't over-tighten. Replace the snap-on weather cover and thread the new antenna into the new Base Mount, and again, don't over-tighten. Easy-Peasy and the Kid has radio again !Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
