    Best Laptop For $250

This laptop is amazing. Its mostly light and portable. The laptop has a really cool design that is modern and sharp looking. the speed is essentially average since im used to my 3GHz i5 quadcore desktop but the dual core i3 does the job quite well. the 180 degree hinge is really cool. The keyboard keys feel really nice which is one of my biggest pet peeves on laptops especially the thin ones. It has its own numberpad which is suprising because not a lot of laptops have one. i thought to myself that the display was going to be a little weird or that i wouldnt like it but it is an anti glare screen and it is actually the coolest thing on this laptop because i sit with a lamp to my back and i get zero glare on the screen even when the screen is dark and i love it. cons: the mouse pad is aligned left and i am right-handed. and the speakers arent that good, they arent loud and are placed under the laptop right in the middle. two easy fixes no big problems. would i reccomend this? Absolutely, if this laptop is still priced at $250 then i totally reccomend getting it, it is a great buy.

  • Top critical review

Screen is dim, slow hard drive, low resolution camera and good cpu

Slow start up, dim screen and low resolution camera but that's expected with this low cost laptop. Its like 15 year desktop, you power it on and go get cup of coffe, come back and its ready. Handles light apps without problems, browsing, playing videos and even light photo editing is good. Camera is not good, its on par with children's cheap camera toys that were made 5 years ago, produces grainy picture. Okay for occasional use or as backup, would not recommend as daily work machine.

  • Nice replacement laptop for one that crashed!!

This laptop is a nice unit at a good price; though it is not a gaming laptop you definitely get a nice i3 processor that can handle everyday tasks and so far is keeping up with multitasking demands as well. You get 4GB of on-board memory though the manufactures included paperwork states that it can handle up to 16GB. Windows 10 pro is included but be ready for some updates right out of the box. The keyboard has a typical loose feel for a unit at this price but it also has a 10 key number pad which is nice! The HDMI output is great for hooking up to a large display when streaming movies and the lag is almost nil; a minimal amount of bloatware is loaded by the manufacturer, removed it right from the start and it didn't impact performance at all. Overall a great purchase!!

  • Best Laptop you'll get for the Price

I bought it because of the processor, it's the best you'll get for the Price, it has a 15.6" 720p display (altough everything is 1080p now, is a good feature on cheap laptop). Battery lasts from 6 to 8 hours a it takes between 1 and 2 hours to fully charge. The only cons i've found is the right shift button is small so you'll end up pressing the up arrow, and the sound on this laptop is quite low, i guess it is because it doesn't even has any holes or vents for the speakers and the HDD make noises all the time.

  • An okay laptop

Pros Novo button next to the audio/microphone jack is absolutely fantastic. No need to fight Fn+F2/Fn+F3 to get to BIOS/EFI menu. Just push the button using a paper clip and you get a choice of boot sequence, BIOS, etc. Despite the laptop plasticky feel, the keyboard feels surprisingly solid. See my biggest problem with the keyboard in the Cons section. I successfully full-installed Lubuntu 16.04.1 on a Samsung USB 3.0 ultra fit and all is working, even the built-in next-to-camera microphone. I boot off it as my primary OS. Windows 10 was quite fast after I decrapified it by re-installing it. No need to worry about the license. It's built-in in the BIOS. Cons My biggest problem is with the Shift key! I'm not sure what the designers were thinking but the key is way off to your right! Very difficult to get used to. It has only two USB ports right next to each other. I had buy a USB hub. Upgrading RAM & HDD is doable but not easy! It takes a bit work and patience. I upgraded it with a 8GB RAM stick (for a total of 12GB) and an SSD drive. You have to remove 13 bottom screws (start with the center one for the DVD-RW and then remove the optical drive) but the process is not bad if you're tech savvy. I recommend to use a guitar pick to gently pry the bottom cover off. Battery is not removable. On the fence The spec calls for "up to 5.5" hours but I only managed to get about four hours with intermittent usage/sleep mode.

  • Good deal but could be better

So overall the laptop is okay for the money. However, if you want to use it on a daily bases you have to add another 4GB of ram for it to run smoothly. I've also upgraded the hdd to an sdd. So mine runs very well now. But again this is a cheap laptop you can't expect much.

  • Good deal

I have only had this laptop a short time and it works well. Nice and light and easy to use. The only draw back I have seen is that the sound is not very good. Even turned all the way up it is quiet and hollow sounding. If you want to hear anything you will need to use headphones to really hear anything well. Other than that this is a great machine.

  • This is a very lightweight laptop and great features.

This is a very lightweight notebook and has a lot of great features. This is my second Lenovo notebook. The bad about this notebook is the hard drive very slow.
