During these unprecedented times, we need Fantasies like this to bring us up out of ourselves. It was beautifully animated. The characters seem so very human that one could identify with their respective emotions. It is wonderful for children, yet mature enough for adults to enjoy, I have seen it many times before I purchased the DVD. I just wanted it for my personal collection. The DVD is of good quality and very inexpensive considering how we are generally overly charged by industries for DVDs in this day and time. It was sent in a very reasonable timeframe, considering how unpredictable things have been lately with trying to buy online. I intend to buy others of what I call: oldies but goodies, for my collection.

This is one of the best animated Christmas movies. There are a few older classics that can match it but for a newer production, it is the best. Used to practice optometry but am now retired due to a stroke but making progress!!! We used to see one of the past presidents from one of the Lansing plants and he would always come in for his appointment in late December because it was his favorite and he knew we would have it playing when he got there. He too is now retired so we have another thing in common :)

I think it's a 5 star movie and I feel this is a great price. I wanted my Granddaughter to see the movie before we went on the Polar Express train. I Know she will love the movie and also understand all we will do on the train ride. It will be a good Christmas for all my family.Polar

When people go into a movie theater they expect to be entertained. Audiences want to be scared, amused, curious, sad, and hopeful. Believe it or not, this film provides all of those elements and then some. I've heard comments by people who gave passed this film on as either "too scary to children" or "just plain boring with no plot" And I agree with several people who have responded to such comments. This film isn't going to give you instant gratification halfway through. If you don't have two hours to spare then you aren't going to understand what this movie is about. Sure the plot was invisible at times, but I don't think the point of the movie was to have the audience follow a plot. The point was to reveal or in some cases remind people of the simplistic faith or child like view we once had in our lives. Think of the characters themselves and what they represent. Hero Boy reminds us of people who are caught in between faith and doubt. Do we trust what we cannot see? Who is to say? Hero Girl shows the stronger side of faith and believing in what is not readily seen to the human eye. Childlike faith personified into a little girl. Lonely Boy represent those who doubt because they haven't truly experienced the joys of life or have had tragedies happen to them from an early age so they learn to only trust themselves, but that ends up leaving them...lonely. Then are those who are the Know-It-All character who claim to take everything at face value (much like the critics and cynics of this film). They want to know it all because what they don't know scares them. When I first saw this movie my eyes widened with every new frame. It was the first time since my childhood that I can remember sitting in the audience with my mouth open and my eyes stretched out as far as they can be. I was stunned, by the artistry and complexity of the story. I was a kid again for two hours. It was like an old friend who I hadn't seen in a long time came back to visit. It was an amazing film. It's a train ride, a leap of faith, a test of the human spirit. It's a ride and like the movie says: "It's not about where the train takes you, what matters is that you get on." THAT, my friend, is what this movie is about. Not being entertained by slapstick humor or satirical sarcasm, but remembering that part of you that resembles the kids in the movie. Believe.Read full review
Great Christmas Movie that can be watched by children and adults alike. Tom Hanks voiceovers are stellar. I rank the Polar Express right up there with It's A Wonderful Life and Miracle On 34th Street.

This is my Autistic son's favorite movie. He has learned about steam engines and the North Pole and the Auroras (Northern Lights). I would consider this a A+ movie for information content, entertainment and story line.

This movie was absolutely stunning. The scenery, the characters and the animation are breathtaking. If you're a fan of 3D animated movies, watch it purely for the attention to detail. The story follows a boy who doesn't believe in christmas, but off course, by the end of the film he has every reason to believe. Tom Hanks does an amazing job and brings the many characters he voices to life. For some of the children, their voices don't fit aswell, but it doesn't take too much away from the film. I cannot even begin to explain how well animated this film is! It really is worth watching, just make sure parents are at hand for young children as there are some scenes that may not be suitable for young children to watch alone. It's a great film that my family and I all enjoyed.Read full review

The dvd did come in original packaging but there was a huge cut or something along the back and the whole case was ruined. However, the dvd was still in perfect condition and the kids loved it.
