If you have never knitted with ribbon type yarns, then this book is quite good. It has a lot easy to follow patterns that work up quickly. I was looking for something a bit more advanced - something that would compare the different types of ribbon yarns and give an idea about which types would work better for a particular type of project . . . and I am still looking! The projects in the book do use a variety of ribbon yarns, but there is no discussion of why one is favored over another for that item.
