About this product

Product Information

HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL: THE MOVIE fashions a full-length sequel to the classic 1971 television special by legendary animators Jules Rankin and Arthur Bass. Updating the original's stop-motion puppetry with eyepopping CGI animation, the musical adventure takes place in the magical land of April Valley, where adorable bunny rabbit Peter Cottontail is preparing for Easter while his nemesis, the Evil Irontail, and the queen of winter, Jackie Frost, conspire to foil the holiday. Chockful of cheery original songs, the well-pedigreed cartoon features design by Deane Taylor (THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS), production by Ralph Guggenheim (TOY STORY), and the voices of Christopher Lloyd, Roger Moore, Molly Shannon, and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS' Tom Kenny.

  • Peter Cottontail in High Def.

I bought this movie for my granddaughter who is 3. I watched it first to make sure what all was in it. The computer animation is top-notch. The characters are cute and colorful (again animation), and their relationships grow with their adventure. It just is slow in parts, ending stronger than it started. The music is better than this type of movie sometimes gets. However, the plot is easy to follow, for small children. They will know who the bad guys are, and will root for the protagonist. You feel like you could walk away and get a snack and you wouldn’t have missed much. It plainly misses the mark, needing to progress a bit faster to the next scene in some parts, but if the preschoolers watch it over and over I could see it becoming more endearing. As for my 7 year old grandson, I could see him not getting caught up in the slow moving scenes, but liking the characters on their own merit.
