PERFECT FOR WRANGLER JKU!!!
SOLID, DEEP, RUMBLING BASS!!! Matches my 8" SKAR in the sidewall for midrange bass. I have it all in my 2011 Wrangler JKU (4 door). It doesn't take up much space at all. I'm running a PPI 600.2 amp, bridged to give it solid power. It will not work with an amp smaller than that, as I tried a 350w RMS amp and it literally shut the amp off when the volume wasn't that loud. But it HITS and the amp will go into protection if you don't have a large enough amp.
This sub does not shake my Jeep, so the music sounds REALLY good!!! I hate when plastic and metal are vibrating and making the music sound like someone's rattling cans in the background. If you tune the EQ just right, this sounds like a very expensive sub - but for a FRACTION of the price! It sounds like the bass in the BMW's and Mercedes, not the rattly, crackly, tin-can bass from cars that are trying too hard to impress someone. THIS BASS IS IMPRESSIVE.
It pulls nicely and fills up the cabin in the Jeep very well. Outside the Jeep, you don't really hear it - but if you go into the house while it's playing, you can hear it all thru the house, rumbling like someone's having a stereo competition somewhere. Weird, I know. But the bass travels nicely and it doesn't clip at all. I'm a HUGE music lover and I do not like junk in the trunk. I like CLEAN systems that produce sound like it's supposed to be.
This sub does it! You feel it thru the seats, thru your body, and it somehow doesn't rattle the Jeep. It's literally the perfect setup for someone that wants to hear amazing music from the driver's seat. You're not gonna be 5 cars away rattling everybody's vehicle. This ain't it - but if you pay for it, you should at least have the best seat in the house. That's my theory.
And this fulfills that theory. I'd buy one for my other vehicles in a heartbeat. I just don't drive them as much as I drive the Jeep.
