I liked this movie. I don't believe in re-incarnation to begin with. This movie had me believing in it for quite awhile. There is nudity & it is for Adults Only. I would not let my kids watch it & certainly not in my presence when they became adults. There are some shocking scenes. One reviewer here stated that it does cross lines that are pretty open in the sexuality department. I would have to agree with that reviewer. This movie does keep you hooked into watching it all the way through. The plot is good & gets thicker by the moment. Nicole Kidman is quite beautiful to begin with & can act. She played a difficult part & came off quite well doing it. If you liked "The Reader" with Kate Winslet, then you will like this movie too. I have always been impressed about the refined quality of characterization Nichole Kidman has deployed in all her films. Birth doesnot fall behind. The director handpicked his characters in one way or another to develop the plot that get to thickens at the very end. The movie keeps you in suspense until the very end just like the Others (another movie done by Nichole) and you wonder if the kid really is her husband. There are afew hints that make you believe he is the husband and others that totally throw you off. The ending is kind of open-minded because you don't get to know if she really finds out the bitter truth about her husband cheating on her while he was alive or if she is crying because the kid brought back sweet memories about her past with her husband. Thought this would be a good movie because Nicole Kidman played in it. I strongly suggest not for children under 13. Movie was average. Nicole was not at her best in performing. Shocked at the role she played, but after Eyes Wide Shut, guess this wasnt that bad.
