  • Gurdjieff on The Go

There is really no place "to start" with Gurdjieff unless you're able to retrace his steps through Asia Minor, etc. But this book is a safe way into Gurdjieff because many of the chapters are in a more accessible style than his other works. In particular, his sentences here are shorter and more to the point as we Americans like. In his other writings, he loves to go from digression to digression, which I enjoy and which I surmise was his intentional strategy probably inculcated from his Sufi masters. Buy it, take it on your walks and read out loud.
