Good stuff, difficult format
Like all collections, the quality of these films varies from barely passable to rare treasures. I bought it because it has half a dozen of my old favorites, and a real bargain it is. Then there are a slew of films I haven't tried yet, which may be an added treat. My only quibble is that in order to pack four films onto each disk, the identifier for side A and B is barely legible without a magnifying glass. But if that's what it takes, it is still worth it.

For Five Bucks, Maybe....
Not worth much more than the five bucks we paid. There were a few very good stories, but many we couldn't continue watching due to poor quality or bed story, sometimes both. Some very old movies here, which is a double-edged sword.

In general this is an excellent buy. The volume has to be adjusted according to which movie is on. A few of them must be throw ins as they look like old TV spots. But, in general quite satisfied.

Noir Movies Review On 2 Separate DVD sets (AMC Dark Crimes & Mill Creek Dark Crimes 50 Movies)
This is a must have for any noir film fan. It's got some of the best noir movies available out there. The film quality transfer of the AMC Dark Crimes is excellent considering for it's age (1940s) and the Dark Crimes 12 disc set from Mill Creek has some decent enough quality. Take note these are from a public domain source and some movies are only available through this set!

Old movies
I love old movies. I prefer black & white and I prefer the old actors who spoke to be heard unlike later actors who all sound like they just graduated from the Marlon Brando School for mumbling. Thank you. Frank Umbriaco.
