First, it doesn't advertise that it will cool your whole room, it's not an Air Conditioner and never claimed to be one, it's meant for the personal space around u in a small stationary area wherever you have it pointed & for that it works great. If u follow washing instructions of soaking the filter once per week in a solution of half white distilled vinegar & half water for an hour or two, the filter lasts long and stays fresh! Also, when turning it on, leave it on for the whole duration of it's cycle which is approximately 12 hours, it will turn off on its own when the cycle is over. This assures that the filter that must be soaked prior to each 12 hour cycle for the air to be cold, gets the chance to fully dry out. It also will use up the water you add to the small water tank section by the end of each 12 hour cycle. The filter & water tank being dried out by running the whole cycle is critical in order to avoid moldy smells coming from the machine. If you turn it off wet and let it sit & sit, over time this just makes the moldy smell problem get worse & worse so do yourself a favor & let the 12 hour cycle run its course. If it's too cold for you at any point during the cycle, just turn the machine and point it away from you & your problem is solved. Other than that, wipe down your machine's air vent after every use or at least every couple uses to avoid build up of the everyday particles in the air that will pass through the vents. The vents let out a must at times so slight condensation mixed with the particles can cause a gross build up if you don't clean it regularly. Clean the rest of the machine about once a week to keep maintenance quick & simple! It may sound like a lot but it really isn't bad at all if you keep up with it and it's also worth it. Having this machine has been a life savior, when I get hot and need to cool down quick! I have mine on an end table right next to my side of the bed and laying in front of it to cool down is the best feeling in the world! I only took the time to write all of this because I love my machine so much and I see bad reviews sometimes from people who don't know how to use & clean it correctly as well as bad reviews from people who don't pay enough attention to know that it's not an air conditioner that will cool your whole house or whole room & it never claimed to be that yet that is what they expect & have bad reviews because of it. I don't know about you but I'm not taking the advice of somebody who expects a $40 machine to cool down their whole house in the first place. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy yours like I enjoy mine!Read full review

It works fine except for lack of power. It can not cool even the smallest room. But if placed close to where a person sits, blows directly on a person it does offer some relief.

This is such a great little machine at your work space but it's too loud for sleeping which is why I bought it, even on the low speed. I live in AZ where it's dry, don't think it will work as well in humid areas because it's basically just a mini swamp cooler (EVAP) I froze the filter and someone said you could also put ice cubes in the water tank. Easy to move around the house, I'm buying another one today. Good for working in the kitchen or at your desk, not great for sleeping. Have been looking at the Dyson Cool fan, but at $350 it's not an option right now.

This is a very good solution for places where you need more than a fan but not an AC. It is very portable, very well designed and it's very efficient. I use cold water and it helps reduce the temperature, not of the room but my personal space.

I am really bothered by the heat and run this all night. It keeps me cool and comfortable. We have Central Air and ceiling fans, but I am so hot-natured that I also use this fan, while my husband sleeps in sweat clothes.
