Having been spanked just one too many times on replacement cartridges, I opted for refilling my own. The key is to not run them dry. On HP I drill out the plug plastic checkball and pop it out with a 1/64th drill bit. Leave out and cover with tape. Refill color not usually more than #2 on the syringe scale, and large black usually #4-#5 on the syringe. Go slow and withdraw some if dripping badly. It will stop, just don't leave it sitting on something it can wick out by touching on the bottom! Again, overfull they drip, so add ink slowly over lots of paper towels. Savings are immediate and priceless! One refill and this is paid for! You get 10 plus refills usually so it's totally worth it!

My canon printer is always full of ink now and prints great. Not a messy job to fill its ink pods either...just put in some ink and tape the little hole and DONE. :-) The ink is bright and does not clog. I recommend this refill ink with the supplied syringes....and... the syringe needles are blunt so you won't stick yourself.Very nice ink refill system.
