I purchased this as an addition to an already large collection of Walter B. Gibson's books. It is essentially an encyclopedia with sub-topics covering a vast array of psychic-related subjects such as astrology, graphology (still a highly regarded practice), numerology, and even moleosophy (reading 'moles'). The majority of the topics are extensively covered with others receiving a satisfactorily thorough explanation. Including the index, the book is xx plus 403 pages. This must have been a lot of fun for the Gibsons to put together back in the '60's when a near hysteria for this type of material swept across the country. He clearly had a practical background for the field as he was a friend and consort of Houdini's around the time of the infamous "Margery" affair, epitomizing the spiritualistic undertones of the era. The clear, concise prose is typical Gibson. Complimented by the assistance of his famously devoted wife, Litzka, it is quite interesting reading. I recommend it for those who want a thorough yet readable treatment of the subject as well as add to their libraries a now classic compendium prepared by one of the most prolific character, mystery and topic authors of the 20th century.
