SynopsisTwo years in MBA school won't teach you how to double the market's return. Two hours with The Little Book That Beats the Market will. Hedge fund manager and Columbia Business School Professor Joel Greenblatt has set out to show, in a step-by-step fashion, how "beating the market" can be made simple and easy for investors of any age., Two years in MBA school won't teach you how to double the market's return. Two hours with The Little Book That Beats the Market will. In The Little Book , Joel Greenblatt, Founder and Managing Partner at Gotham Capital (with average annualized returns of 40% for over 20 years), does more than simply set out the basic principles for successful stock market investing. He provides a "magic formula" that is easy to use and makes buying good companies at bargain prices automatic. Though the formula has been extensively tested and is a breakthrough in the academic and professional world, Greenblatt explains it using 6th grade math, plain language and humor. You'll learn how to use this low risk method to beat the market and professional managers by a wide margin. You'll also learn how to view the stock market, why success eludes almost all individual and professional investors, and why the formula will continue to work even after everyone "knows" it., Praise for The Little Book That Beats the Market"A landmark book_a stunningly simple and low-risk way to significantly beat the market!"_Michael Steinhardt, the Dean of Wall Street hedge fund managers"Simply perfect. One of the top investing books ever written

This book should be required reading in 9th grade classrooms. Call it civics, math, social studies, whatever...The way it was written and the content is pure genius. In the same category as The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. A category that has very few rivals.

  • Top critical review

You are better off surfing the web

The entire book can be written with only 6 - 10 pages. It is basically about value investing and how important it is to to follow the authors formula. He has a website that lists publicly traded stocks with certain criteria but the list is not that accurate. You are better off buying a real stock market investing book or just go to Barrons and other business sites for short concise articles on value investing.

  • Good but Over-Rated

Highly touted as revealing important inside secrets, yet content mainly is well-covered principles. I did read the whole book, and it is a good review of sound investment practice.
