Beautiful film with the incomparable Gong Li -- a must own!
Beautiful film with the incomparable Gong Li starring as a woman who conceives a child with her husband's nephew in a tumultuous affair. Loved this film in the theater when it came out in 2006, and it still stands up on DVD. Highly recommended if you are a fan of Yimou Zhang's or Gong Li's films, which always verge on the erotic and provide moving, humanist stories of strong women suffering but overcoming the odds.
