Printer is small, portable and has a nice look. Prints photos in under a minute. Photos come out dry and colors are pretty vibrant. However, what you see in the viewfinder is not always what outputs as a picture. For what ever reason the finished photo gets slightly cropped. It does not print 5X7 Photos. It uses an a/c adapter or a special battery that must be purchased separately. Memory cards are instantly read and total amount of pictures is shown. Comes with ink and photo paper. Overall, good printer but not as versatile as the All-In-One printers available nowadays. Recommend as a second printer for people who want a quick and easy way to print. This printer is also fantastic for using at social events such as parties, weddings, etc... since it can easily be set up in minutes.Read full review
Purchased as a gift and it has been perfect. For the price it is an outstatnding photo printer. It is compact enough to use as a travel printer. Does not print very fast, but it is fast enough for our use. If you are into scrapbooking this is a great printer to get you started, and should fulfil your needs for years. Ink cost can be a bit high, and depending on the amount of photos you print, it (Ink Cartridge) may only last 1 day. By shopping for ink on Ebay, you can save quite a few bucks, and in some cases, the refilled cartridges pffered on Ebay have more ink than the OEM brand. Cons are: Cost of ink Print speed
This compact portable printer is both cute and light weight. It allows me to take it along with me when I know that I will be using my camera. The neat thing about this portable printer is that many different memory cards can be used with it. the only down side is that the ink cartridges only allow for about 40 pictures in reality as opposed to the 75 advertised and the quality of the prints is not exactly great. I would recommend this printer if you are looking for something light and compact and it's photos are pretty good comparitively.
The print quality on these newer HP printers almost had me running out to buy one. They truly do make some beautiful prints. However, I got looking further and now I would say run far away. Not just from this one, but from all newer HP printers. Why? The ink cartridges. A few years ago there was a big uproar when HP started dropping the amount of ink in their cartridges. They dropped it so there was only about 17ml of ink in a cartridge with the last generation of printers. This new generation of inks, the Vivera inks, now only have 5-7ml of ink in a cartridge!!! That is about 1/3 the ink of the previous, yet the cartridges cost about the same. What this means to you as the consumer is that you end up spending a LOT more per print, especially if you are printing darker prints or ones with a lot of color. When all is said and done, it is MUCH cheaper to take your card from your digital camera (or load images onto a card after editing on your computer) and run down to the photo shop to hav ethem printed. The major photo shop by me charges 19 cents per 4x6 print. They are on real photo paper, not ink-jet, so they last longer. Costco charges just 15 cents, and they are also photo paper. These printers will cost you about 50 cents per print by the time you pay for the ink and the paper. It will actually be from 38 - 60 cents, depending on how dark it is. You are better off to get a basic printer for printing any pages, documents, homework projects, etc, and leave the photo printing to the photo shops. I have a very nice camera (see my other reviews) and do all my printing now at the photo shop.Read full review
I do mailings for real estate on high gloss 4x6 cards. I have the ability to create and print anything for direct mailing. The total price per card is probably less expensive, for what I produce, than generic commercial printer offerings. The HP 385 (I have 3) allows me to print in bulk (500+ is no problem). I had an HP 325, but I wore it out. I push these printers and they can take it. The whole process is time consuming, but well worth it. If HP produced a dedicated 4x6 high speed, high volume printer, I would buy it. The 385's do quite well for now.
I belong to a Motorcycle Club that for the past 30+ years has spent one week in December each year offering free pictures with Santa. A few years back we started doing digital pictures and printing them using various inkjet printers. This past year (2012) I purchased 3 of these HP 385 on Ebay. They proved to be the best we have had yet. The picture quality was excellent and the ink usage was not bad. The pictures also printed in very quickly. No one had to qait for to long of time. All our customers were over joyed with the results. I would recommend this printer to anyone even though it is an older model.
I love this printer!! Fast printing of my photos from my camera. Good quality prints. Easy to take on vacation and print digital pictures immediately after taking. Great value.

I bought this as a replacement for an HP 320 that died after trying several others. It is effortless to set up and the drivers are built into Windows 10. Print quality is excellent (as was the 320). Current photo printers on the market are designed principally to accommodate downloading images from your phone and use a different format paper which must be cut to accommodate 4x6 images. It was good to find this printer as it is no longer available.

It makes beautiful pictures and is very easy to use. The quality is amazing for such a small printer. I bought it because I wanted to print out the pictures I am taking on my digital camera rather than just have them on my computer. My regular printer was too hard to configure for snapshots. I wish they had included a battery - optional battery is very expensive. Also I had to buy the carrying case as an extra option.
This is the 2nd one I purchased as a gift for someone. The print quality is great but when it comes to using the Menu/Preferences, it's pretty slow. Each time you select a preference/tool, etc. you have to go back to the Menu to select another one. There is no back button for this. Other than that, it's a great travel printer or home photo printer and a desent price.
