I have owned mine for about six-months and use it daily. I have made a few photo dvd's from scanning old family pictures. It serves its purpose well, and is an improvement over the Lexmark all-in-one printer I was using. I would recommend it for general, or home office use. In summary, here are the main things I like and dislike about this printer. What I like about this product is: + it prints beautiful clear pictures + it prints documents quickly + the front media ports for easy access to download pictures from your camera + the flat screen scanner, that allows you to scan several pictures at once + it is easy to set-up + easy to install ink cartridges + the top panel controls are easy to read and understand + its size fits conveniently on my computer desk + the included software has photo editing tools and other helpful features What I dislike about this product: - the cost of the ink cartridges {however they do last longer than most} - when scanning multiple pictures, it sometimes doesn't separate them individually, like it should, and you have to rescan - the scanner can sometimes be loud/shaky, giving the impression that the belt is going to break Other than that... it is a nice printer to have! :)Read full review
This all-in-one printer is great. You get fast, clear, sharp prints (both photos & text). It prints, copies, and scans at a reasonable sound volume; it would be nice if it were just a bit more silent. The picture LCD and memory slots become very useful when printing without a computer. It is very easy to use and setup, user friendly. The software makes scanning images easy, and printing photos even easier. Ink could get expensive, but I would recommend refilling the ink cartridges if you are comfortable with that. For better photos, you could also replace the black ink cartridge with a dedicated photo cartridge to improve image quality.
The HP all-in-one's have made my life more simple - they perform well and do a variety of tasks. I use mine with my Macintosh computers in my elementary school classroom for such things as copying, printing, and a little scanning now and then. Also, they serve as a terrific card reader for digital media as well. It reads all the popular cards. The HP software that comes with the printer can seem a little complex, but everything works other Macintosh software like iPhoto, Graphic Converter, and others. Also, the card reader appears as a drive on the desktop, so you can even circumvent the HP software if you like. I have purchased several of the HP all-in-one's for other teachers at the school, and everyone loves them. Probably the only complaint is the cost of inkjet refills, and the fact that these printers use them up pretty quick!!Read full review
I have used this printer/scanner on a regular basis for over 17 years and it is still working great!. The print quality is excellent especially when using HP Premium Plus Photo Paper. I am an artist and I have extremely high standards for color. It can make borderless prints and can handle heavy paper weights up to 100 lbs. such as cardstock. It makes very little noise while operating. The scanning to print function works just great, though the options are a bit limited compared to today's models. I am not familiar with the scanning of digital images to download to your computer function because I never use it for that. About the only complaint I have ever had is that paper jams are kind of difficult to unravel, though this happens only rarely, and only with cheap flimsy copy paper. Also, the new ink cartidges are ridiculously expensive, but I buy expired ones on ebay and they usually work just fine (though not always).Read full review

This printer is an easy set up right out of the box. The ink lasts a long time, prints at a decent rate, and the quality of the prints are great too. The scanning is quicker than most other home scanners, and has neat little display for selecting pictures in your camera as well! The printer is a lot quieter than some of HP's other printers and definetly looks nicer than most of the other ALL IN ONE printers. Something definitely worth looking on eBay (I paid over 200 when it first came out...)
