If you've played the first MGA, more than likely you'll enjoy this one as well (pending you liked the 1st). Keeping in ties with the orignal, MGA2 expands on its unique card-decisive gameplay with more cards, options, and style. The first thing you'll probably notice when firing this game up is the new approach in presentation. T he game comes with a constructable (somewhat flimsy) pair of "3d glasses" that allows you to view select video clips and in-game gameplay in 3D. This is pretty entertaining novelty ... for about the first half hour. You'll more than likely opt to play the game without them. The main highlight of the game in my opinion is the same with any other Metal Gear Game, the story. Expect thrills and twists like no other along with a bizarre cast of characters. This is supported by a unique sense of art design that only Hideo Kojima could offer, and a musical score that gets pulls you into the battles. Controls for the card-based gameplay will come easy to those seasoned from the 1st MGA; there has been only a few minor additions. Those NOT familar to the mechanics of same should expect a moderate learning curve, as the instruction manual provided isn't as detailed as one would hoped. Overall, this is another solid, well-done title put forth by Konami. Highly recommended for all Metal Gear fans who enjoy the lore of MGS and those who enjoyed the 1st.Read full review
You can only do a few moves at a time, you take turns trying to kill each other by selecting cards that pertain to a move. I'm just starting and it's fun. Haven't try the 3d mode yet but you can still play easy without it. For 3d mode the screen gets cut in half and you view everything through a view that must be slide over the psp. So far I just met the new girl after fighting some kind of experiment. You do need a good deck and stuck with bad cards will get you killed. Good game.
I recently bought a Sony PSP, so I'm creating my PSP Game library, and based on previews flatering experiences with the Metal Gear saga I went for this title. At first I was really sicked about the 3D enhancement this game has, but after 3 minutes of trying to play with those uncomfortable 3D glasses I was disapointed, and then I had to get used to the new gaming technic which consists on playing by turns and you can only do a restricted number of actions which depend on the CARDS you have on your deck, so I was like "WTF" but I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. The game is GREAT, the STORY, the PLOT is worthy of a metal gear saga. After playing it for an hour I couldn't get my hands of it. I finished the game in about a week, and I'm currently trying to get the first part which is MGA1 You get used to the gameplay fast, and it gets to be really challenging as you have to figure out the best moves on your turn, so that the enemies wont kick the crap out of you during their turns. You get into the Plot and there are a lot of plot twists you don't even expect. This mini-Metal-Gear-Game REALLY CAPTURES the escence of a metal gear played on a big screen tv. I alwasy recomend PLOT over Graphics, but this game has them both. If you want to play a good pocket strategy game, with a plot that will have you playing for hours to know what happens next, this is the choice I recommend.Read full review

What do I love about this game? Everything, the improved graphics, animations, and gameplay. With this entry into the series they really upped their game. The 3D is way more than a simple gimic it really works and doe make the game very enjoyable and if it bothers your eyes you don't have to use it but it is really really cool. So if you love metal gear as much as I do then by all means this game is for you!!!!!!!!
I am completely satisfied with all aspects of this game, one of the problem I had in the last one was point farming. They fixed that by making the flow of the game easier and giving you a lot of points to spend on cards. I find the previous one slower and trying to farm for points was fruitless when you don't get what you want, however in this it wasn't the case. I especially enjoyed arena mode, I am already good enough to take out extreme bosses! Great game overall!
The first MGA was sloppy and long. The intro took an hour or so and really made it boring for the beggining. you had to stop infront of doors to open them and you had to stop when you picked up a card pack. All of those little things have been fixed in MGA2. you can keep moving, doors open automatically and it comes i=wtih 3D glasses! What more could you want?
All metal gear games are good
