Here's a series that I was able to sit through and watch from start to finish. (All one hundred episodes!) This was a series that I never saw as a kid and boy, did I ever miss out! The later addition of the character Bubba didn't thrill me but it wasn't enough to hurt this wonderful show. The premise of the show is simple. It involves three intelligent, trouble-making boys who happen to be the nephews of Donald Duck. Donald can no longer take care of the boys because he wants to join the navy so he turns to his uncle Scrooge for help. After some resistance, his uncle Scrooge takes the boys and that's where the series begins. Each episode follows uncle Scrooge as he goes on his adventures, tries to educate his grand-nephews and goes about running his business. After all, he didn't become the richest duck in the world sitting on his tail feathers. He has also since become my favourite Disney character. This series also sparked my interest in the 'duck-verse' so I read the Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics made surrounding these colourful characters. Ducktales is truly a hidden gem. (And uncle Scrooge needs more love!) This is definitely a worthwhile buy whether you're a Disney collector or just an animation enthusiast. My only real complaint is that the first volume DVD does not have the pilot episodes. So you have to buy the second volume to get them. I felt that they really should have released Ducktales in chronological order so the viewers wouldn't get confused as to the order of events. (Yes, the series is semi-story oriented... at least at the start.)Read full review
I will, as soon as I have the money, go to a store and buy these from retail! Why? Why!? pay retail when I can save lots of cash on ebay? because Gargoyles, ducktales, darkwing duck, MIGHTY MAX!, Dinosaurs tv sitcom, pinky&brain, Bump in the night (Mr.bumpy the claymation series) The real ghostbusters, x-files, etc are all worth the money! I want their sales on these items to be good so they will keep releasing them! example: If the sales suck on gargoyles 2, 3 will never come out! buy the sets if you can! Growing pains, saved by the bell, full house, pink panther, there all there! gett'em if you can! when is mighty max coming out?
When I was younger I used to see DuckTales a lot on the afternoons. I love the duck family of Disney and this one it is based in Carl Bark's famous comic books series. Now, Disney TV quality is not comparable to movie quality or direct to video... the quality ok , some animations are really nice ( maybe done in Disney Australia or Canada or japan) but the rest it is done in some other low quality places... I know that beacuse I am a classic animator and I have been working on the field for many years... But anyway... the presentation of this dvd set is nice and if u don't mind much about animation quality... get this product and enjoy it!!! Feranndo Yache
I absolutely loved ducktales when I was a child and wanted my son to experience them too since they no longer come on tv. We got the first volume in today and have watched the complete first disc. It really brought me back to my school days, coming home and watching ducktales. Ducktales it still as great as it was then. I definitely recommend this show to anyone that has small children. It's a great kids show that most parents will remember watching as kids. Great for the whole family!
At first I was confused, cause Volume 1 strangly doesn't have the first five episodes that were originally a TV special. I later found out that the first parts "Golden Sun" were put on the Volume 2 DVD set. Other than that little surprise, I LOVE that I purchased this. DuckTales was a big part of my childhood. Each and every episode has a creative adverture!! And let's not forget that it has the catchiest theme song of ALL TIME!!
Wonderful to watch with grandkids now. Remembering the good days of being home with my little ones.

I used to watch Ducktales all the time as a kid, so I was thrilled when I saw that they had released all the episodes on DVDs. Watching the show took me back to when I would come home from school and my mom would make me and my brother a snack while we would watch Ducktales, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin, and all those other cartoons that have yet to be matched by what kids currently watch.
An absolute blast (from my past), Ducktales is an instant Disney hit! Join every talking fowl this side of animation as Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge, Huey, Duey, Louie and Launchpad fall into every possible (impossible) situation imaginable, all for good laughs, good times and an enjoyable (as well as somewhat moralistic) ending. Intended for kids of all ages, enjoy alone or with your own (kids, that is)!
Thankyou all ducktails arrived safely..and on time.
