I love the book. It has excellent pictures and diagrams for learning the material. The material is straightforward. It is an easy read for review for the test. However, for those who do not have a college degree in exercise science, some of the chapters should be organized in another fashion, such as chapters 6, 7, and 11. I am currently tutoring someone for the test with this book and we have had to skip these chapters until she has had the basics. I believe chapter 7 should be introduced before 6 and that chapter 11 should follow 6, and chapter 8 should follow 11. That is my personal opinion after obtaining a BS in exercise science and tutor multiple students in anatomy. Aside from that there has not really been any grammatical/spelling errors that I have noticed. I love the boxes and tables. They are awesome! This is a great book! I am a personal trainer and nutrition advisor, and this book has a tremendous amount of information on both. I found it much more thorough than AFAA's 3 textbooks put together, and believe this would be a great study tool for someone just taking their exam---as well as for someone who has already received their certification, for reference. I decided to buy the book because every PT manual refers to the American College of Sports Medicine's stats, so I thought they would have alot of useful information. I was not disappointed, and I think every personal trainer should have this book!
I like that that I was able to purchase this book far earlier than if I had waited for my college bookstore to stock the book. I had this book in hand a good three weeks before the start of Fall quarter and I paid about 20% less than if I had purchased the book new from school. I was able to get a jump start on my studies this quarter. I will buy from this source again in the future!
I bought it to review for an exam, since the state is looking to change the PT certification process, and will require a different certification. This book is up to date, and is easy to read, and is a comprehensive review of the information for the exam.
