I remember watching this movie when I was around 12 or 13 years old. It was great! I saw it several times, but eventually got busy doing things and before I knew it, it had been a little less than 20 years since I had seen it. I happened to see it when I was in Seattle at the Science Fiction Museum Hall of Fame. I wrote down the title and found a copy of it on eBay. The same hour I received it I watched it. I found the same thing that happens many, many times with books, pictures, or movies from our childhoods...they are not as good as we remember them. The movie was tolerable, but due to the "special effects" (and I use that term lightly) and some slow portions of the plot, I only marginally enjoyed the movie. One of these special effects though did make me smile...the larger creatures in the movie were reminiscent of the Godzilla movies. The movie overall was a good deal though (there was a second Vincent Price movie with this one - double feature)for only $3.00 or so!Read full review

The first movie (War Gods) was new to me. There were times it seemed like it was poised to burst into being an exciting movie. It rarely delivered. BUT... The second movie on the disk (At the Earth's Core) is one of my, and many other SCI/FI addicts, favorites. Edgar Rice Burroughs writing and Doud McClure are a Saturday afternoon perfect fit. The quality of the DVD was better than I remember on those Saturday afternoons.
