Following the activities of South Korea's first serial killer, MEMORIES OF MURDER tracks the gruesome events through the eyes of the two detectives investigating the case. The murders unfolded in 1986, a time when South Korea fell under the watchful eye of a military dictatorship, meaning that technological advances were scant, and the detectives had precious little evidence to work from. The victims were all women from various age ranges, and all were raped and slain by the killer. A GREAT FILM IF YOU CAN FIND IT
Terrific film by the director of 2019’s hit PARASITE. A drama about police in Korea searching for a serial killer with many touches of humor (some hilarious) to lighten the mood. It does turn very dark, though. I saw it for the first time in a theater as part of a retrospective of Korean films, and I was thrilled to be able to get this out-of-print DVD so that I could watch a second time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
