Hose pump in hand, the brave little star of Namco's coin-op classic burrows his way out of the arcades and into this dual-screen game that challenges his skills above ground as well as below. On the upper screen, players guide Dig Dug across pseudo-3D islands viewed from a distant, isometric perspective. When he heads below ground, to the lower screen, the action is much more similar to the 2D maze game that gave him his start. By creating tunnels below, through fault lines and other loose foundations, the hero can cause cave-ins and collapses that trap and defeat enemy monsters too tough for a face-to-face fight in the open.
