Not only this was the last WWE game on GameCube, not just the last wrestling GameCube game but the last of an era of wrestling games when they had console exclusives. The game plays similar to the previous games and even the N64 AKI games but there are new features like the stamina and submission moves. The story mode starts where the last game left off with the created wrestler on the Raw brand. There are a few legends needed to be unlocked and the roster is decent at best. Since this is GameCube, the roster isn't as big as the PS2 games and there's still no commentary. Other than that, this game is so underrated and WWE needs to do more exclusive games with this game engine again some day or maybe even remaster the WrestleMania and Day of Reckoning games on the Nintendo Switch.

It's a good game for game cube the graphics is average, but for back then it's good. Now a days 2020 the games look more & more realistic with the characters.

Ever since the release of WWF No Mercy (which in my opinion is still the greatest wrestling game) WWE has tried to recapture the glory of wrestling in video game form but, has come up short with each attempt. Their latest game entitled Day of Reckoning 2 is a good attempt but, playing it i found something was missing. I was playing but, could not pinpoint the problem until i watched family members playing the games. Then i realized it was the fun that was missing. Although you may enjoy playing the game you can't say you are really having fun playing the game. Fun is what i find missing in Day of Reckoning 2. After playing Day of Reckoning 2 for a while i give up and go to my old N64 and No Mercy and, then i have fun and enjoy playing wrestling. In Day of Reckoning 2 i found the wrestlers to be stiff and stumbling in the ring and that some commom moves are sometimes tricky. I have also noticed the wrestlers don't face each other but look another way instead of at their opponent. Overall i would say Day of Reckoning 2 would rate as the best new wrestling game that WWE has released since No Mercy. Here's a tip WWE, try re-releasing No Mercy with the many features it had combining it with todays graphics and you will have a hit on your hands.Read full review
The Pros: Many Wrestlers to Select From, Many different Match Types to Play, Create A Wrestler, The Graphics, Large Number of Moves You can Apply, The Detail, The Crowd Chants, The Entrances and Introductions make it very realistic. The Cons: Difficult to Recover from once getting pounded. Hard to Remember the Controller Button Sequences to perform the many, many moves. I purchased this game (and many others) because back when they were first released, they were all Fifty ($50) dollar games. Now I can get them online for about Fifteen ($15) bucks! That being said, this game was well worth the investment I paid. Great gameplay, great graphics, many storylines. I have had hours of enjoyment out of this game so far. WWE put a lot into this game to make you feel as though you are an active participant in an episode of Monday Night RAW. The wrestlers themselves are very realistic looking, as are their moves. You can perform all of their most famous finishers, and you can participate in over 10 different match types like Hardcore, Steel Cage, Hell in a Cell, Bra & Panties, Table Matchesm Ladder Matches, TLC Matches, etc... Very Fun.Read full review

Back in the day, my son and I played all of the wrestling games. Nintendo, by far, had the best with No Mercy on the N64 and Wrestlemanias and Day of Reckonings on the Gamecube. Don't get me wrong...SvR on PS2 was a great series UNTIL they messed with the controller scheme. Old school gamers like myself had no issue with the control pad. Changing to the joysticks for everything was a mistake. RAW and Wrestlmania on XBOX was garbage. I would love THQ to produce another game by combining the best of No Mercy, Day of Reckoning and earlier SvR for the PS3 and XBOX 360.
