THE BEST BOOK ON DRESSAGE
I bought this book for my wife, who has owned several Arabians and has used this style of riding for 40 years. She's just a good ol' Wisconsin farm girl, but she made her way to the "Big Apple" - dreamily following the trail of Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". But instead of jumping into High Society, she began working in New York as a teacher in Harlem. Following her own excellent work practices, she ended up on on Wall Street as one of the First Female Bond Traders, riding every weekend in Central Park. I'm used to Western Saddle, but she taught me to ride Dressage on our wonderful Black Arabian mare here in Richmond VA. I was astonished at the amount of self-control that is necessary for this exacting style of riding. Over the years I have achieved some degree of competence, but when she's riding, our horse performs miracles. So she "knows her stuff." She and I were both delighted with this book, which she had long known of but had not owned. The images are beautiful and the text is clear, well-written and to the point. Whether you know very little about dressage or are yourself an enthusiast, this is the ONE book you want to own. Buy it just for the great pictures, or to tone up your own ability. But BUY IT!!!Read full review
