Screenplay writing has changed quite a bit over recent years, especially since the advent of the computer age. In the early days they could be handwritten and were no more than suggestive guides for the director, who could deviate where he felt he could improve the end product. Today the format and type fonts are "cast in concrete" and a screenplay program with automated tabulations, caps vs lower case, italics, etc., is virtually mandatory. And the producers/directors will likely take an accepted screenplay and have their own writers rewrite it anyway. These things are the reality of today need to be covered more thoroughly in in the book. I can neither recommend nor not recommend this book, not because it is poorly done, but but because realities have been chanced so much by the digital age.Read full review

I bought this with plenty of skepticism and ready to glance, nibble and chuck but sometime you get unexpectedly delighted.
