MICHAEL & ME follows Elder over an 18 month period as he attempts to locate the elusive Moore in order to quiz him about some of his assertions in BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE. Prominent in Elder's mind is the question of how many Americans have managed to stay alive after using a gun in self-defense. A film that puts across a different perspective to Moore's anti-gun stance, MICHAEL & ME pokes comedic fun at Moore's stance as a man of the people. Elder also borrows stylistically from the controversial director, particularly in an animated segment that is reminiscent of Moore's own colorful approach to documentary filmmaking.
