Trouble begins as English and Indian laws collide. John Smith (Miles O'Keeffe)is taken captive by the feared Powhatan Confederacy where his put thru the Test of Endurance and sentenced to die. By custom the Princess claims John Smith as her own, to save his life. She helps him thru healing as they fall in love. Their strongest bond is their hope for peace between their people. She sets him free to return to his people where he is wrongfully blamed for the deathes of his countrymen accused by treacherous Sir Edward Wingfield (Tony Goldwyn).
