Great sound, plenty of power...need to be a sound engineer to get the most out of all features & functions. Would like to go back to separate balance, treble, mid & bass controls! Old School!

This receiver lacks the power the older 5.1 ones do. I was very disappointed for this to be called "ES" as it has push spring speaker terminals for 2nd set. Very Cheap build Quality. I feel this should be a Non-ES model. Bass response and overall power was distorted and muddy. Loud music dosent have a chance with this unit, distorts horribly. For a smaller setup this may be ok, but for your main system, try a 7ES, or even try a 7.1 receiver. This just dosent have the power.
This is a very high quality receiver for the price. As is typical with most Sony ES series receivers it puts out quality sound at all listening levels and across all sound processing fields. For the money, Sony ES receivers provide great value and are some of the best receivers you can buy.

Arrived early, is exactly as described and works great. I can connect my TV, Blu-Ray, turntable, everything. Great value for the price 😁

While quite dated now, 2017, this is a wonderful receiver. I love the sound quality.
