Okay, I must admit, I bought this on a whim. I was a member of one of those DVD clubs and needed a couple of DVD's to fulfill my commitment. My toddler had Winnie the Pooh books, and as nothing else stood out - I bought this! WOW!!! Am I glad I did. This has become a true favorite and not only does my toddler get the pleasure of watching this, but I get the joy of watching her reactions, and nothing can beat seeing her jump up and down screaming with happiness as 'Lumpy's' mommy turns up!! With a running time of just over an hour, this is not the longest movie, but certainly the right length for a toddler; in fact the time frame of this movie is probably why children are so engaged from start to finish! It features all the classic Pooh characters, besides our main character we find Tigger, Roo and Rabbit. But more than the old favorites, it is also heartwarming - a story of friendship and is certainly joyful. However it also sends a message - teaching us not to judge others and jump to the wrong conclusion. Prejudice is wrong and this movie certainly, in its innocent and child appropriate ways reminds us of that! As an extra bonus we have the additonal features of the DVD, one of which includes a game of hide and seek where you can use your remote to help your child find Roo and Lumpy! Picked up for a little girl that loves Disney and loves elephants. Nice addition to her family movie nights along with the classic “Dumbo”. Well worth the price of admission to add this “rare” DVD to her collection.

I love that this dvd is still for the most part in the old style and has the softer gentler drawings that are so reminiscent of my childhood. The characters are less "in your face" and even "Lumpy", the infamous elephant (Heffalump) is less annoying, and does not speak with that awful accent, nothing personal just a reflection of what I think an elephant would sound like. Also, the movie includes an entertaining part at the end explaining what the producers/artists were trying to capture when making this movie in such a cute way that you cant help but love this dvd and hope that I am able to find one with its same value/content! My son and I also got a glimpse of a "Halloween" (Winnie the Pooh) that he couldnt stop talking about, hopefully its just as good.
Pooh´s Heffalump movie has been a fond memory for me and my daughter...not only for the context of the title but more or less the message included.. It is a highly underrated film from Disney that could have easily have become a classic to any household...The Dvd itself was sent to my daughter far away from where I am but even though I was not able to verify the condition of the product my daughter was so happy to see this film again and according to her statement: The movie is awesome I loved it, and watches it almost everyday.. thank you so much for a great film more than purchasing a product it´s more like remembering past times and great memories..that a father and his children can dream of again.. This time it is little Roo who goes on a big adventure and finds the heffalump all the other one are afraid of. It is interesting to watch as the dynamics of Pooh and friends show their various character traits in search of the heffalump. It might be a touch scary for the very young, because as they go through the woods, there are noises and shadows, but very minimal. Mostly upbeat because Roo has such a positive attitude and that is inspiring to youngsters who want to overcome something they might be afraid of. The interaction between Roo and Lumpy is quite interesting, and he shows through love and acceptance that things can be very different than what his friends imagined it to be. I had to watch this several times with my younger grandkids because they had exhibited a little fear, until we talked through some of the parts so they understood what was going on. After that, they didn't need me around, because they got it, and were telling me what was going to happen, and how, and to watch what the reactions would be.
