So now Becky is sad and life stinks. She thinks Luke hates her and her shopping and helpful comments. To Becky's surprise she has a sister after she returns from her around the world honeymoon, the trip of a lifetime. She wants to make up for all the years she and her sister have missed. It turns out her sister is the complete opposite of Becky. That is just the begining of the trouble. Of course shopping is huge part of all Becky's trouble. although this time good will prevail from it at some point. Okay anymore I will ruin it for you. This one took me 6 days. I cannot say enough about this amazing author and series. I am in love. I had not been reading for years. Now thanks to Sophie I am a book worm. A book takes just a week. I suggest the tapes for the first read. That way you get the cute british voice in your head for when you read later. You need to read these in order. I cannot believe how easy she is to read. It is better than Grey's Anatomy. Read this one after all the books before it. Otherwise you will be sad when you realize it goes in order. Each book leaves off from the one before. Don't forget to vote for me. Anytime you want to chat about this author, I am always ready :)Read full review
Shopaholic & Sister is #4 in Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series. CAUTION! DO NOT READ SHOPAHOLIC & SISTER IN PUBLIC! You'll find yourself laughing out loud & tears will be rolling down your cheeks, as you are entertained by Becky Bloomwood's outrageous gotta have it honeymoon souvenirs. Not to mention her quest for the ever elusive designer Angel handbag. The reader will also commiserate with Becky when she discovers her long-time, best friend forever, Suze, has a new best friend while Becky was on her whirl-wind honeymoon. You'll shake your head & feel a little bit of sympathy for Luke, when he comes home to find 2 truckloads of souvenirs cluttering up their flat. Luke simply doesn't understand why they would need a hand-carved dining table & 10 chairs from Sri Lanka or how Becky could have possibly forgotten the other dining table & 10 chairs!! For those of us who are eBayers, we can certainly relate to how quickly & easily Becky becomes hooked on eBay. And while Becky is raking in the cash by selling many of those honeymoon souvenirs, she also discovers what a bargain that fantastic designer coat is! And no way is she going to allow anyone else to out bid her either! Becky is shocked & delighted when her parents drop a bombshell on her, by telling her about the long-lost sister she has. However, Becky's delight suddenly turns to shock, confusion & hurt, when she discovers that Jessica doe not like to shop! HORRORS! The Shopaholic's Sister Hates Shopping?!! No Way! After having read the other 3 Shopaholic books & now this one, I can hardly wait to get my hands on the next Shopaholic book!Read full review
This time Miss Bloomwood comes down to earth a little harder than usual. A sister pops up out of no where, her bestfriend has a new friend, her old friends aren't returning her calls, and her husband is constantly annoyed with her. Talk about feeling left out and useless. Its a good book, I enjoyed it, but I did not like them pulling an unknown sister out of the hat like a trick rabbit. Talk about forcing issues just to get another book in a series! Came off a bit like a moral at the end of a fable, family is the most important thing etc... I give it a good
After reading Confessions of a Shopaholic, I immediately purchased all the other Shopaholic books. The main character Becky, is so much fun. I love the way she thinks and how she acts impulsively. I found myself laughing out loud while reading about the situations Becky gets herself into. The British words and currency are a little difficult to follow but certainly do not ruin the story. The ending of this book made me want to start the next book, Shopaholic and Baby immediately.
I really enjoy this author and her great sense of humor. I have read the whole set now and have enjoyed each one. The author has a funny twisted view. Things always end up turning out for the best but it's a long journey to get there and not always to pleasant!
Can wait to start, I read the first chapter and its as cute as the rest of the collection. Thanks so much. I apologize for this review being so late I haven't had a chance to swing by a computer lately. Thanks again, came with in a few days after purchase.
It was a really fun book to read. I had orginally read Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic Ties The Knot" and was interested to continue reading about the main character, Rebecca Bloomwood". "Shopaholic & Sister" was just as funny. I'm sure I'll continue to read the other books in the shopaholic series.
Very Funny. It's a laugh out loud read. I can't put it down. Sophia Kinsella rights books that are easy to read. My live is super busy and I can totally relax while reading this book.
im so excited! i just bought this book last night, i wasnt even looking for it..though ive been waiting for it ever since i finished my last shopaholic novel which was a few months back! so i found it and bought it right away and made myself finish the book i was currently reading last night so i could start off fresh today with shopaholic and sister!!! ill review it when im finished..im sure it will be soon cuz ive been anticipating this one!! i cant wait for shopaholic and baby!! yay so, so far rebecca and luke are on their honeymoon traveling the world having an awesome time, when they realize that it might be the right time for both of them to return home. they decide to surprise everybody back home but to their own surpirse nobody seems thrilled to see them! they spot mom and dad walking home with another girl and at first they just deny it. everything seems suspicious when they get back. then she goes to see her best friend suze and she had twins! thats not the only new news with her, she also found a new best friend! rebecca isnt too fond of her and gets treated like shes an outsider when really she knows suze better and longer than lulu. lulu is taking over her best friend just because they have one thing in common, children! rebecca starts to have many little arguments with luke over some silly things and also some huge things like rebecca buying millions of things and it took two whole truck loads to bring it into their house. she didnt even remember buying half the things that arrived, some of which she bought doubles and triples! so the big catch to this novel is that beccy now finds out she has a half sister!! Jess is two years older than beccy and shares the same father. she thinks that it will be exciting because she just lost her best friend suze to lulu and now that she has a sister, they can start bonding and doing all the things size and her used to do. but shes wrong! jess doesnt like anything that rebecca likes. she hates shopping, cute romance movies, and it turns out that shes a big saver! unlike herself! jess is now bonding more with luke and helping him with a project on the computer when rebecca has been asking luke to help him this whole time. jess ends up finding out about beccy's debt and spending problem and is now trying to rule her life and help her out of this major problem! rebecca went to the town that jess lives in to try and find her so that she can help her out but jess just shut her out of her life and told her to leave her alone forever. beccy never gives up and she spent some time at a local coffe shop making friends with the locals who all know jess. they all help her to confront jess and after a few fights, and something crazy that happened on a mountain (you gotta read it!) they end up being really close!! Luke and rebecca are close again....and they all live happy every after!! Lol.Read full review
