So this German compalation of mk2 stranglers includes on CD1..7 tracks from Friday13th (live), 4 tracks from Written in Red and 3 tracks from Coup de Grace. CD2 had 4 more tracks from Friday 13th, 2 from Written In Red and 5 from Coup de Grace. The slip case has snake skin texture to match the picture on the front. The booklet inside has images of all 3 albums plus a picture of the About Time album along with some pictures and quotes from the mk1 version of the band. Curious because Hugh Cornwall did not feature on any of these recordings while Hughs replacments, John Ellis on guitar & Paul Roberts on vocals don't get a mention anywhere. As a compalation, it's unremarkable and not worth buying unless you are a collector or you can get it cheap. The songs are all good enough but you'd be better off buying the three albums on hearing them in context.
The item was bought for my cousin as we'd just seen the Stranglers at the Apollo in Manchester, which she said she enjoyed, so hopefully she should enjoy the double cd when I send it to her.
