CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS FROM THE PAST
I'VE BEEN HOPING TO FIND A SECOND HAND COPY OF THIS EXPENSIVE BOOK. I SAW IT INITIALLY IN A BOOK STORE WHEN FIRST PUBLISHED. I COULD NOT AFFORD IT AT THAT TIME. I WAS BLESSED TO GET IT ON eBAY AT A LOW COST. IT IS A MASSIVE COMPILIATION OF UNUSUAL, ELDERLY, CHRISTMAS AND TREE DECORATIONS, MOST OF WHICH WERE PROBABLY DISCARDED IN LAND FILLS BY PREVIOUS OWNERS. FRAGILE, THEIR KEEPING REQUIRED SAFE ANNUAL PACKING AWAY. HANDLING ALONE CAUSED MANY OF THESE ITEMS TO DETERIORATE OVER THE YEARS. THIS BOOK IS A MUSEUM IN ITSELF. PAGES ARE FILLED WITH PHOTOS SHOWING GROUPINGS OF LIKE DECORATIONS AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALS, MOST WITH IDENTIFICATIONS. THIS BOOK IS AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE OF CREATIVE HISTORY IN CELEBRATION OF THIS BELOVED HOLIDAY HONORING THE BIRTH OF CHRIST. IF YOU DON'T CARE TO OWN A COPY, DO ORDER IT IN FROM YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY.
