Ever read any Bernard Cornwell? If you like history, and action/adventure, you're going to love these. The series centers around Richard Sharpe, a private in the British Army. In this first installment, we are introduced to Mr. Sharpe, who is serving in India. We follow private Sharpe as he introduces us to life in the British army during the Napoleonic wars. The outline of the book is carefully crafted to give us vital background information as well as a grand adventure including floggings, a rescue, traitorous action, a massive battle as well as treasure and man-eating tigers! Although this is the first book in the series is was not written first Mr. Cornwell does a fantastic job in filling in the blanks and getting us started as we follow Mr. Sharpe's climb up the ladder. I highly recommend the entire Sharpe series, but like most things, there is a right way to go about it and Sharpe's Tiger is definitely the place to start. What are you waiting for? Go start reading the book!Read full review
