I haven't read this book yet but I was reading another book, Phillip Gourevitch's "We wish to inform you that tomorrow we will be killed with our children." (Yes, that's the title). And I had to read "In the Footsteps of Mr. Kurtz" by Michaela Wrong (I think that's her name). Both have references to Heart of Darkness (the latter one, quite obviously) and I've consistently heard great things about the book. I'm also from Africa, so I am doubly interested. I bought this copy as a permanent copy that i intend to keep forever, so I'm looking forward to reading it.
It's an intriguing take on this era of British influence in Africa.
