Aerobiz puts armchair executives in control of their very own airline company. As president and CEO, players will decide what routes to open, what fares to set, what planes to buy, and more. Players will also be in charge of negotiating holding slots, setting a budget, carrying out marketing campaigns, buying stock, and following industry and city data. To achieve a goal of connecting 22 cities of the world, you send managers to negotiate while contending with strikes, airplane trouble, and even world events, such as war, tourist booms, labor strikes, accidents, and bad weather. An early airport / business sim from Koei that needs a re-release
Aerobiz was one of the early efforts in management sims that really struck a chord with me. While the graphics haven't held up over the years, the game still offers a surprisingly robust experience. From purchasing the best planes for your routes to negotiating gates in different cities, there really is substance to this game. The game is single or multiplayer (but honestly, you'll want to play alone in most cases) and each scenario is limited by a time span of a number of decades to reach a goal. I love it.
