Don't get me wrong, this book is great. Very informative and alot of helpful information which sound like they really may work. Unfortunately my son is at a stage where he is a little too young to understand some of this. I definitely got some tips that I have/am trying out, but it is certainly not a quick fix. Sleepless nights ahead for me until this little guy gets a bit older. I highly recommend it to someone who has an older toddler who can understand such things as "The Morning Fairy". One thing I really liked is that the author does not try to impose her "view" or her "way" she says alot about how the Family has to do what is best for them. I liked that.
This book is definitely geared more to the older toddler/preschooler--my son also falls into the middle range where he's not a baby but not old enough to understand the stories and pictures in this book. That said, there are a lot of good tips in here. I appreciate that she stresses knowing your own child and picking & choosing your strategies, rather than giving a one-size-fits-all program.
Our daughter is a terrible sleeper and wakes many times at night. I read the No-Cry Sleep Solution for babies with limited success. This book offers new ideas and tips to get an older child to sleep, though I think the tips can work well for younger children as well. We're still working on sleeping through the night, but her very gentle approach works for our style of parenting, as well as what style of parenting that has worked with our daughter.
I love this Book. The Author does a great job explaining why her techniques work. My son is having a hard time falling asleep on his own and staying alseep. I have not finished the book yet. We still are working on some of the problems, but I have seen definate improvemnt.
