Product Information
Often credited with the spread of yoga's popularity in the western world, Paramahansa Yogananda enriched those who he came into contact with via his great sense of spiritual enlightenment. After studying in a hermitage and taking his vows as a monk of the venerable Swami Order, he spent his life travelling and teaching. His lessons aimed to help those who heard his words to attain direct experience of God, and to understand the unity between all the great religions of the world. This document is the only footage available where audiences can both see and hear the teacher speak. Never before available, the clip was shot in 1936 during a brief stay in England, and aired as newsreel footage 60 years ago before falling into obscurity. Yogananda discusses the proper way to sleep, and ends the talk by going into Superconsciousness. This rare opportunity to experience the teachings of the master is augmented by interviews with several of those who were close to him, including his chauffeur, his nephew, and multiple disciples. Swami Kriyananda, founder of Ananda yoga, introduces the material with an inspirational lecture on the lifework of this beautiful soul.Product Identifiers
