I really like SimCity, it's kind of boring if you just sat there and wait for the city to build, but it's a game that you can do some things for awhile & then you can go & do something else for awhile. Or you can watch TV for awhile & come back & see if your city has grown or see if there has been a problem (like a tornado, earthquake, or some other catastrophe). It kind of reminds me of the Simpson's episode when Lisa has a small world in a can (or whatever it was). She was a god, and now you are too. Or maybe just a mayor (you can add your own catastrophes if you want, so maybe that can give you a god complex). You make a lot of political decisions like taxes and how many police & fire stations are in an area, as well as where parks, stadiums, industrial & commercial zones, & residential areas are. For the most part, it's the same game. I thought it would be cooler though. It definitely takes a step backward. It's a pain in the ass to do the normal things. You have to do a lot of dragging, which is a drag. Instead of finding a place to just add a residential area, you have to drag an entire area. Then you have to push the right button. If you push the wrong button, you have to restart the whole process. Once you figure it out, it's not that bad. But til you get used to it, it kind of sucks. SimCity 2000 isn't nearly as user friendly as the original, which makes it definitely less fun, and because this is a newer version, I have to review this as worse than the original. It takes awhile to get used to, the controls are definitely worse, but it's still OK. I like the game, but it made me want to play the original more than play this game.Read full review
In SimCity 2000 you will take the role of a Mayor of the City you create and you will be running your city on the classic Super Nintendo. It is your job to take you small puny town into the New York City. Of course, you will have many issues to take care, you are the Mayor after all. You will have to deal with issues like when to build schools, zoning issues, crime and fire abatement, tax rates, and construction of infrastructure and so on. But non of these issues matter because here is your chance to run own city and you can find out what real Mayor have to do on a day to day basis.
