Notes2010 debut album by this outfit fronted by Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen. Light Me Up is an unflinchingly honest chronicle of Momsen's experiences, filtered through her unique point of view. 'The record is about life', she says. 'It covers everything: love, death, and music itself. It's Rock 'n' Roll. It's sex. It's drugs. It's religion. It's politics. Each song tells a story about the trials and tribulations and emotional struggles that I've experienced or observed. It's not a happy pop record, but it's not Satan-worshiping either'. Polydor.

  • Interesting debut, controversial lead singer

Starts off with Somebody Mixed my Medicine, lots of undertones in video, not sure if glorifing or suggesting the drawbacks of drugs & excessive partying. Makes Me Wanna Die sounds like a suicide note set to music & very real & heart felt, You is quite beautiful makes one wonder which image is real (probably both), Show me to the Party sounds under the influence of various & sundry....Good singing/ vocals, good guitar, rhythm section & writing & let us no forget the to complement the drummer. Satanism (Sympathy for the Devil, N.I.B. older rebellious youth images, already been done, although not necessarily by a female artist), Lesbianism (rather explicit videos: she just did what? Was that rehearsed? Are them women really audience members?) provocative strip tease, sounds like a potentially great & unpredictable Rock'n'Roll band.
