I am a dealer of Game of Thrones in all of its released incarnations. This newest set is well priced, but not without its flaws. The cases are rather easily cracked or broken. The video quality is somewhat less than that of other releases, and it is reported that the occurrence of playback errors and artifacts is increased. This set may be fine for the casual watcher, but serious fans may wish to purchase one of the better quality sets from a previous release.

The series itself is great, and the box set looks awesome, but when you open the package, the cases for the DVDs could pass as used. One of the DVDs from one of the seasons was not even attached to the case it was moving all over in the case, and had scratches on the disc from it. Again, the series is awesome, but the discs and cases were in okay quality. I recommend the blu ray version to prevent from scratches ruining it

Excellent series--very engaging and entertaining. The only issue with the DVDs was that subtitles to translate Dothraki did not automatically show up when characters were speaking in season 1. We had to show all subtitles in order to see the translation, but then we got it all the time, including when they were speaking English. Subtitles do automatically show for other seasons, when Dothraki or other languages are spoken.

The show itself is absolutely fantastic. I love it, and will continue to do so for a very long time. The quality of the discs however is not 100%. Most of the episodes run fine with no issues. With some of the episodes though, the screen will freeze, and play, freeze, and play, while the audio goes on without issue. Also in those episodes with problems, the character on screen will be clear for the most part but the things around them/ the background, is some kind of pixelated blur. It is quite annoying especially because I was showing the series to a beginner. I really wanted the experience to go on perfectly. We are just starting season 3, I really hope these issues don't continue.

Most Discs were fine . There were a few that skipped during playback which I thought was odd being that these were stated to be new and not used. The frustrating part was the final disc which refused to pay! I keep getting the error message that the "disc is dirty!". I tried to clean it but the error was persistent. So after viewing the whole series I was unable to view the final disc. Very frustrating!!!

A lot cheaper buying this box set then buying them all individually. Didn't really think about buying this series yet but the price couldn't be beat. Only recommendation is to package in a box not a bubble wrap package to protect it better.

Reading reviews was somewhat concerned about DVD and picture quality. Well I found ZERO wrong with set I received. Picture quality was excellent, all discs played without errors & no scratches or DVDs out of the case. Six seasons for this price is a real true value for an excellent series. Tom October 3, 2017

My box set came shrink wrapped and in excellent condition. With that said don’t expect the best quality DVDs. However, for the price I paid, I really can’t complain. If you are like me and are just looking to catch up on Game of Thrones without spending $40 or more a season, than this is your best bet. But if you are looking for something that is high quality and you will re-watch and cherish forever, you might want to reconsider. For the most part the DVDs I have watched were fine and without issue. But not all of them were issue free. So far I have watched season 3 and 4 and in 20 or so episodes approximately 5-6 of them had an issue where a scene skipped or stalled (although luckily most where only for a few minutes) like I said you get what you pay for. I for one am very happy so far with my purchase. But just be warned this isn’t going to be a perfect DVD box set. Read full review

I have now watched seasons 2 through 6, and >90% of the discs played just fine, no problems, on different players. A couple exceptions: the first disc in season 3 skipped scenes randomly during the first episode in a play station 3, but played just fine in a phillips DVD player. Disc four or five in that same season wouldn't load at all in said DVD player, but played just fine on the PS3. Otherwise no problems with any of the other discs that were randomly switched between these two players (though more of them were seen on the PS3). These are official, legally licensed DVDs, though my guess is that HBO let some other company manufacture them versus the discs that came in the more expensive, $30-$40 per season sets one finds at big box stores. If you aren't stuck with a single DVD player, or can read other reviews to find out which types of player may have issues with them, I would recommend the set--it's just too good of a bargain. This would be a really great series with the story line itself. It should be rated X for all the porn scenes which are totally unnecessary. It would be a great show if they just eluded to the sex scenes instead of graphically showing them. And if this is in your home, your children are watching it also. I wonder if there is a cleaned up version that would be more enjoyable to watch? Season 2, disk 2 would not play.
