I use this pump to transfer water from 10 litre jerry can to freshwater tank on my motorhome. Needed to fit a Hella plug to utilize external power socket. So far so good, transfers water reasonably quickly and is silent in operation and required no priming. Previously I had used a cheap 'noname' generic pump, totally useless, rusted solid in a month. I have a lot more faith in the 'Whale' brand, you get what you pay for.

My Whale water pump assembly ran dry so in a hurry & away on holiday, I bought a new Whale pump assembly [£75 strewth alive!!!] decided to buy a separate whale pump & wire it up therefore giving me a spare pump, works fine, will probably stay in the 'van cupboard & never been used, but it's there as a spare. Very cheap to buy & easy to fit, well worth the time & trouble.

Great value for a well known brand. I have used Whale water pumps before and they have always been reliable.

First of all is the price of this pump £12+ img ghetford caravan pump stopped working so I did some research thetford replacement £48 I saw that the Whale pump was of the same specification the Whale pump actually has an removable adapter on the suction pipe The only difference is that the thetford pump has the fitted plug to fit the circuit board the whale has bare wires no problem I just cut the wires stripped them back and used a small connector block to join them you may want to shorten the whale pump lead the pump fitted and a press of the button and the toilet was again flushing it certainly looked as it flushed with same power as the original pump In my opinion this pump is an ideal replacement saving myself £36.
