This system features a high quality, CAD-designed, dyno-tuned intake tube to achieve maximum power gains while maintaining a perfect fit. Fits 2017-2020 Hyundai Elantra 1.6L Turbo. Fits 2018-2020 Hyundai Elantra Sport 1.6L Turbo.
I love this cold air intake kit. It looks great under the hood, and it does allow for a tiny bit of BOV noise (if you delete the intercooler resonator somehow it'll be even louder). I knocked off a star because fit was a bit awkward. Getting everything aligned was a bit of a task, but once everything was tightened down and in place, it looked great and it's staying put. I have driven about 5k miles since I installed. I like that it draws cool air from in front of the radiator. It makes the intake tube feel cool to the touch after a drive. I feel there is added power in the lower to mid RPM range on the stock tune. This 1.6T has benefited from anything I've modded to allow for more airflow. My car is a 2018 Elantra Sport. At the time of this mod, other engine performance mods include 2nd cat delete, hot side pipe, and Veloster N lower motor mount. This kit does work with the ES-one strut brace but is very close. At start-up the two clunk together a bit just from the engine shaking. I'm deciding between wrapping the intake tube in header tape or just putting a piece of automotive type foam between them.
Not perfect for the price, but noticable improvement in throttle response.
It arrived quickly and nothing was missing.
The installation was very easy but somehow the hood doesn't close properly when using the isolation strip provided in the kit that goes on top of the housing.
I ended up using fuel line cut open to place around the top of the air box which works a lot better than what was provided. There's still a miniscule gap barely noticeable but way better than the full 1.5cm gap that the provided part caused.
As for performance, only the throttle response improved but the car doesn't feel any faster.
*IMPORTANT! If you are looking for the typical turbo spool sound, this intake is not for you. When the hood is closed and the airbox sealed, there's barely any noise apart from a mean growl under load (almost like ITBs).
