Great Genuine Toyota Illuminated Door Sills - Installation Required Some Work (see review)
Love the door illuminated door sills (note front sills are illuminated; backs are not, which is okay by me). While these are made for 8th Gen Camry's (2018+), they are made for Camry's that have an interior illumination upgrade package (e.g., footwell lights). These sills have connectors that are designed to hook into existing (but unused) matching connectors already installed as part of the upgraded illumination package.
My Camry did not have this upgrade, so I had to "wing it" to get them to light up properly when the door is open. On the driver's side (I have not done the passenger side yet) I had to splice into the black wire that is part of the door switch located in the harness behind the kick panel. I connected the white wire from the sill to this black wire. I then used an Add-a-Fuse connected to the Dome Light fuse location on the interior fuse panel and connected the wire from it to the black wire of the sill. While I was at it, I ran a long wire from that Add-a-Fuse across the car to the passenger side for when I hoke that up. The Add-a-Fuse provides 12v to the sills, and the black wire from the door switch completes the ground (thus completing the circuit when the door is open) to illuminate the sills.
