Unlike most laser diodes this one seems very robust in that it can take some pretty unusual currents and voltages. While experimenting with a homemade driver circuit I must have messed up about 5 times and it still worked great at the end of it all.

Havent tested but packaging is just terrible. Laser diodes are sentive device. The foam is not ESD protected and also is loose so they can rattle around.
