I don't have a fancy computer but I'm always running out of USB ports. This is the quick and easy solution to connect devices (like external disks drives) that don't rely on the USB for their power. Works on 2.0 and 3.0 devices.

THIS THING COSTS 5 FREAKING DOLLARS!! I expect SOME value. Instead what I got was a pure bull dump. It requires a power source, which your laptop/pc will NOT be able to provide, it also deleted a temporary ram placement file, which didn't do much damage, but it still deleted a file (when my laptop was not running). Not recommended, :( ! I opened it and this is what I found. The USB ports are white, but it's blue in the images.

It's a good tool. Fast and easy to fit. A little bit of space between two connectors. A separate power supply is a good option.

Tested in linux and the transfer rate is slow. If I connect my USB 3.0 hard disk directly to computer, the transfer rate is about 100 MiB/s; using the hub, it goes to about 5 MiB/s. I don't know if it is a faulty unit or if it have this rate by design. This is useless.
