I still love listening to early Foreigner. "4" was released when I was in jr. high school and I owned it within a week of its debut on vinyl, I pretty much wore that record out. I've since owned it on cassette and now on cd and I still listen to it on a regular basis. Every song is outstanding, my personal favorites include: "Girl on the Moon" (haunting sound), "Juke Box Hero" (every young man's dream really), and the inspirational anthem "I'm Gonna Win". What's really cool about this remaster is the extra 2 tracks "Juke Box Hero" & "Waiting For A Girl Like You" remade in a 'nearly unplugged' version. Outstanding early 80's hard rock here!
It is obvious Mick Jones and Lou Gramm put all their heart and soul into “4.” I was shocked however to read in the liner notes there were as many as eight session players on the album. I don’t think Donald Fagan and Walter Becker used that many on any Steely Dan album. Regardless “4” is deserving of all its accolades despite having been promoted as a four piece band at the time.
