The book is the story of a part of Rose Wilder's childhood, and her interactions with the town girls in Mansfield, Missouri. This is the fourth of a series of eight books deptcting the childhood of Rose Wilder, written by Roger Lea MacBride, a close friend of Rose Wilder Lane in later years. Rose was the only surviving child of Laura Engalls Wilder - The author of the famous Little House on the Praire books. Rose was also quite an author, publishing a good many books, and helped her mother publish her Little House books. For me - all of the Laura and Rose book are a must read dipicting how the west was won by tears, toil, and hardship.
Thank you.
