Hendrix's best work
Whenever you hear people talk about how great of a guitarist Hendrix was, they must be talking about this compilation vs. his rock hits. Not because they aren't good, it's just that this work, which was not highly publicized, has a great deal of improvisation to it. This is the best type of venue for a talented guitarist who likes to "explore" and not keep to a script. In addition to the guitar work, there are impressive sax solos. Midnight Lightning even has a jazz feel to it. To me, more than any work he has done in the rock world, this complilation shows how diversified he was.
