I listened to Franki Valli and 4 seasons back when I was in grade school. We all had transistor radios back then. It was the "ipod" of the late 50's early 60's. It was a simpler, gentler, more innocent time, glad to hear music that reminds me of that. I owned this CD for many years, but lost it. Happy to find it again.I can't listen to any kind of "music" past the 1970's. It just mimics all the violence and horror we see on TV every night in America. I knew a boy who was killed in Vietnam and knew 2 firefighters who died on 9/11. (I live in NYC) This kind of music reminds me of a time before the world went completely crazy.

After I graduated from high school & went to college, I dated a guy who had a tape of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. I loved their music from the start. Even after that boyfriend & I broke up, I still love their music to this day. So, I decided I needed a music CD to play in my car (I had the cassette tape, but no cassette tape player in my new car). I decided to buy this because it has all the songs I remembered, know, & love. I can sing to the top of my lungs & Frankie & the Four (Plus One - Me) still sound as good as we did, er ah, a couple; OK, 10; OK, 15 years ago Don't push your luck, on the exact # of years, OK? The point is, this music CD HAS GOT IT! So, GET IT! I highly recommend it.
Recently saw a performance of "Jersey Boys" in Vegas and rediscovered the Four Seasons after a thirty-five year absence. These guys were very popular when I was a young teenager and I really liked their big hits at the time (1963-1964). It seemed like they were always on the radio then. This album brings the hits alive again, and with the wisdom that comes from age, some of the lyrics make more sense today than they did when I was 13 years old. Although one or two of the tracks on this album are almost embarrassingly awful to hear again (Swearin' To God, My Eyes Adored You), the mainstays, such as Sherry, Rag Doll, Walk Like A Man, Big Girls Don't Cry, Dawn, Candy Girl, Bye, Bye Baby, and the rest more than make up for the few clunkers on this collection. If you are of a certain age, or dig the kind of white-faced rock 'n roll that was a prince of certain East Coast cities before the British Invasion, this would be a good album for you.Read full review
